Copycat Fragrances Sponsor Manchester Storm Ice Hockey club

Copycat Fragrances have become the official sponsor of the Man of the Match at the Manchester Storm Ice Hockey club.

About Manchester Storm Hockey Club:

Manchester Storm is a British professional ice hockey team based in Planet Ice, Altrincham, Greater Manchester and they are members of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL).

The Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) was formed in 2003 following the demise of the Ice Hockey Super league and it is the highest level of ice hockey competition in the United Kingdom.

The team has a family-orientated following and a fantastic atmosphere.

2023 got off to a great start with the New Year’s Day league fixture against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Steelers recorded as the biggest gate in the club’s history since its re-formation in 2015. With upwards of 2,400+ inside the Storm Shelter, all seats and all standing tickets were sold in anticipation of the clash.

The club has seen a significant increase in interest and participation, with new players joining the team each year and an ever-growing band of loyal supporters

…..and famously back in 2016

Pop star Justin Bieber made a surprise appearance at an ice hockey game.

As "unbelievable" as it may sound, the music sensation put the puck in the back of the net during a practice session with Manchester Storm.

The Toronto Maple Leaf fan was presented with his own Storm jersey. Having asked if he could skate with the team at Silver Blades ice rink in Altrincham the then 22yr old went for a pint with the team afterwards.

Ice hockey is a sport that is growing in popularity in the United Kingdom. The number of registered players has increased steadily over the past few years, the sport has enjoyed an increase in interest since the 1980s, primarily in North East England and Scotland and its popularity rose further in the 1990s, the year Manchester Storm was established, in fact, Manchester Storm hold the record for a British league game when they sold out Manchester Arena with 17,245 people on 23 February 1997.
