Madonna song-references aside, Virgin Island Water is an unmistakable fragrance. With spicy, citrussy accords (and more than a hint of exotic coconut) it’s an evocative, sensual scent that’s ideal for a night out on the town.

Virgin Island Water perfume – the facts

As you can probably tell, Virgin Island Water has got some seriously exotic ingredients. As such, it really does transport you to a Caribbean island, with the sweet scent of coconut, the tang of lime and the richness of rum and sugar cane.

When you first apply the fragrance, you’ll notice an initial burst of citrus, which is both sweet and striking. The coconut rounds this off nicely, taking the scent somewhere more laid-back and ‘beachy’.

Give it a while to settle, then have another sniff. Now, you should start to detect the exotic smell of hibiscus flower, not to mention the freshness of jasmine blossom. The ginger is subtle but it’s likely you’ll pick up on it; it’s just a hint of ‘bite’ that makes the fragrance more masculine.

Finally, after a few hours, the base notes rise to the foreground. Sugar cane and rum are rare additions to any eau de parfum, and are really what give this fragrance personality. The musk makes it ideal for sultry summer evenings.

Our version of Virgin Island Water perfume captures the mellow, sensual notes of the original, at a reduced cost. If you haven’t yet tried this cologne, and you’re looking for something a bit different, we’d highly recommend it. A Virgin Island Water sample is a great way to test it out without full commitment.

Who would wear Virgin Island Water cologne?

This is a very unusual scent, and therefore, might not appeal to those who like their aftershaves to be more traditional. However, if you’re keen to have a signature scent that’s instantly recognisable, this is an excellent option.

It’s more of an evening fragrance than for daytime wear, though if you were attending a summer wedding, for example, it’d be a great choice. The allure of coconut and musk makes it suitable for intimate evenings with your partner, or for attracting attention when you’re out for the evening.

Virgin Island Water is a truly inventive, forward-thinking eau de parfum; which is also powerfully evocative. If you like fragrances that transport you to far-flung places (or simply remind you of your last sun-soaked holiday), then this is the one for you.
